Odaily Planet Daily News: With the increasingly active cryptocurrency policy environment in the United States, more than 12 major lobbying organizations are active in Washington, including the Digital Chamber, Blockchain Association, and Crypto Innovation Council (CCI). Recently, new institutions such as Solana Policy Institute (SPI) and National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) have also been added.
Although industry leaders generally believe that 'more people make more power', some former policy advisors are concerned that multiple organizations have highly overlapping members, funding, and goals, which may lead to resource waste and excessive bombardment of policy makers. The Stand With Crypto movement led by Coinbase and the well supported political action committee Fairshake are also pushing for policy changes, investing over $100 million last year to support pro crypto candidates.
As the new Congress advances multiple key cryptocurrency bills (covering market regulation, stablecoins, DeFi, proof of reserve, etc.), there have been leadership changes in multiple organizations, such as Kristin Smith leaving the Blockchain Association to join the Solana Policy Institute, and Perianne Boring, founder of the Digital Chamber of Commerce, stepping down from daily management and retaining only board positions.
