[The Supreme People's Court Emphasizes Strengthening Efforts to Combat Cybercrimes Involving Virtual Currencies] On November 13, the Eighth National Criminal Trial Work Conference outlined three key priorities aimed at safeguarding cyberspace security. These include focusing on issues such as the handling of cases involving virtual currencies, obscene performances in online live streaming, jurisdiction over cybercrime cases, and the certification of electronic evidence, with the goal of improving judicial rules and standardizing judgment criteria. Efforts will be intensified to crack down on cross-border online gambling crimes, hold accountable online platforms that provide services for overseas gambling or disseminate gambling-related information, and cooperate with relevant departments to address gambling promotion chains. Additionally, measures will be strengthened to combat upstream illegal activities in the black and gray markets, such as the infringement of citizens' personal information, severely punish "insiders" within industries, lawfully enforce employment bans, and promote the implementation of regulatory responsibilities by online platforms.
