According to Foresight News, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) announced that it will expand its partnership with Google Cloud, and both parties are piloting seamless and secure wholesale payment and asset tokenization solutions. The Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group has successfully completed the first phase of integration and testing of Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL), a new distributed ledger launched by Google Cloud. GCUL is a programmable distributed ledger designed to facilitate integration and use by traditional financial institutions. It simplifies the management of accounts and assets, and facilitates transfers on private and licensed networks. Later this year, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group and Google Cloud will conduct direct testing with market participants, with plans to launch new services in 2026.
