[Zama to Launch Public Token Auction in January 2026] Crypto company Zama announced that it will sell 10% of the ZAMA token supply through a sealed-bid Dutch auction on Ethereum from January 12 to 15, 2026. The auction process will utilize the Zama protocol to ensure the confidentiality of bids with fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). Auction features include fair distribution, true price discovery, prevention of bot sniping or gas wars, and tokens will be unlocked immediately after the auction. The claim period is set for January 20, 2026. ZAMA is the utility token of the Zama protocol, used for paying encryption and decryption fees, staking or delegating to operators, and securing FHE coprocessors and KMS nodes. The mainnet is planned to go live by the end of 2026, with token functionalities fully implemented before the auction. In June this year, Zama completed a $57 million Series B funding round at a $1 billion valuation, led by Pantera Capital and others.
