On December 2, cryptocurrency exchange platform Kraken announced its acquisition of tokenized asset platform Backed Finance. Backed Finance is a platform that issues digital tokens representing real-world assets, such as stocks and exchange-traded fund (ETF) shares. Kraken Co-CEO Arjun Sethi stated that Kraken currently offers stocks and ETFs issued by Backed, and plans to integrate these products more closely into the Kraken platform after the acquisition is completed.
