[The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Seeks Public Opinions on the Guidelines for the Standardization System of the Metaverse Industry]
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is publicly soliciting opinions on the 'Guidelines for the Comprehensive Standardization System of the Metaverse Industry (2026 Edition)' (Draft for Comments). The draft proposes that by 2028, more than 20 national and industry standards will be formulated, initially establishing a standard system to support the innovative development of the metaverse industry. By 2030, more than 50 national and industry standards will be formulated, with a moderately advanced layout of key standards to meet the needs of high-quality development in future industries, accelerating the supply of international standards for the metaverse.
