[Ripple Co-Founder’s Space Company Vast Plans $300 Million Fundraising at $2 Billion Valuation]
Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb’s startup Vast, which is dedicated to building the world’s first commercial space station, is in talks for a $300 million funding round, valuing the company at $2 billion. The round is expected to be led by Balerion Space Ventures. Negotiations are still ongoing, and the figures involved may be subject to change. Vast is currently primarily funded by McCaleb’s personal resources, and he has expressed willingness to invest up to $1 billion of his personal wealth. The company plans to launch its first space station prototype, Haven-1, in 2026 and begin deploying components of Haven-2, intended to replace NASA’s International Space Station, in 2028.
