[Atlanta Fed Initiates Selection Process for Next President, Current President to Retire at the End of February] Following the announcement that current President Bostic will retire at the end of February, the Atlanta Fed Board of Directors has initiated the process of finding the next president. Regional Fed presidents are selected by Class B and Class C directors (those not affiliated with regulated financial institutions), and the final candidate must be approved by the Federal Reserve Board in Washington. The Atlanta Fed president will serve as a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) responsible for setting interest rates in 2027.
