[UK FCA Seeks Feedback on Cryptocurrency Regulatory Proposal] On December 16, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) opened a consultation on the proposed cryptocurrency regulatory framework in the UK. The proposal covers areas such as access and disclosure, market manipulation, crypto asset trading platforms, intermediaries, staking, lending, DeFi, and prudential regulatory requirements. The deadline for submitting feedback is February 12, 2026. David Geale, FCA's Director of Payments and Digital Finance, stated that the goal is to establish mechanisms that protect consumers, support innovation, and foster trust. The FCA is assisting companies in meeting standards and completing registration while awaiting further legislation.
