[Lighter Team Announces TGE Details, Community Allocation Accounts for 50% of Total Tokens]
On December 27, Lighter's Head of Marketing, @Pilla_eth, shared details about the TGE during an AMA event titled 'Lighter TGE.' The TGE and airdrop are scheduled for 2025, with the airdrop accounting for 25% of the total token supply. There will be no lock-up restrictions, and the tokens will be directly deposited into the Lightner wallets of points holders. 50% of the token supply will be allocated to the community, with plans to introduce a token buyback mechanism, though the specific amount has not yet been determined. Initially, LIT tokens will only be tradable on the Lighter platform. Coinbase and Bybit have already included LIT in their roadmaps. Lighter will not launch an official NFT but acknowledges certain community NFTs. Additionally, Lighter is developing a mobile application with functionality comparable to CEX apps.
