SlowMist statistics show that 200 security incidents occurred in the blockchain sector in 2025, resulting in losses of approximately $2.935 billion, a year-on-year increase of about 46% compared to 2024. Losses in the Ethereum ecosystem amounted to approximately $254 million, ranking first, while BSC and Solana recorded losses of approximately $21.93 million and $17.45 million, respectively. The DeFi sector experienced 126 incidents, accounting for 63% of the total, with losses of approximately $649 million. Although there were only 12 incidents involving trading platforms, the losses reached as high as $1.809 billion, with a single incident at Bybit resulting in losses of approximately $1.46 billion. Contract vulnerabilities were the primary cause of attacks, accounting for 61 incidents. The report highlights that the accelerated adoption of generative AI has significantly reduced the cost of scams, with attackers leveraging realistic content to enhance deception.
