WEEX co-founder and Chief Security Officer (CSO) Ethan posted on social media to remind that there has been a significant increase in security risks recently, with criminals impersonating investors, partners, or well-known KOLs to carry out targeted fraud against project parties and industry practitioners under the guise of cooperation, investment, or resource docking.
Ethan stated that such attacks are often not simply phishing links, but rather induced through long-term communication, identity disguise, and social trust, ultimately leading victims to execute files, access specific pages, perform signature authorization, or leak internal information.
He reminded project parties and practitioners that multiple verifications must be conducted before any operations involving permissions, authorizations, documents, or funds, and security standards should not be lowered due to the other party's "identity halo".
Ethan emphasized, "In the field of security, trust cannot come from titles, but only from verification." He also stated that he will not request any form of system access, file execution, or authorization through private messages or third-party channels.
