xAI announced the completion of its Series E funding round, raising $20 billion, exceeding the original target of $15 billion. Investors include Valor Equity Partners, StepStone Group, Fidelity Management & Research, Qatar Investment Authority, MGX, and Baron Capital Group, with NVIDIA and Cisco participating as strategic investors. xAI plans to build the Colossus I and II supercomputing centers by 2025, with GPU capacity exceeding the equivalent of 1 million H100 units, advancing the training of the Grok 4 series models, and launching products such as Grok Voice and Grok Imagine, covering applications in voice, image, and video generation. Currently, its product ecosystem collectively covers approximately 600 million monthly active users across X and Grok applications. The funds from this round will be used to accelerate the construction of computing infrastructure, support the training of the Grok 5 model, and develop consumer and enterprise-level products, while also expanding the team to support research and product deployment.
