Kraken's Ethereum L2 Ink collaborates with Optimism to introduce permissionless fault proof

2025-01-23 14:19

According to The Block, Kraken's Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution Ink will launch a permissionless proof of failure mechanism on Thursday, which is an important technological advancement in its rapid development. Ink became the first hyper chain network to launch a multi "challenger" mechanism after testing on the Optimism mainnet. Initially, the challenger system was run by the smart contract automation protocols Gelato and Kraken, respectively. Fault proof is an important feature of Optimal Rollups, allowing users to question the validity of transactions and correct erroneous states. The initial challenger funding for Ink is provided by Kraken with 49 ETH (approximately $156000), and users can also participate in the challenge by pledging ETH, thereby promoting on chain centralization. Since its early launch in December 2024, Ink has become a testing platform for Tether's new multi chain USD token USDT0 and plans to further decentralize in the future. Koller emphasized that although Ink has been criticized as an "enterprise chain," its goal is to practice the concept of decentralization through concrete actions, empower technology users, and enhance network trust neutrality.
