CrowdStrike: North Korean Hackers Will Cause Crypto Asset Losses of Over $2 Billion in 2025
According to Cointelegraph, CrowdStrike has released a report stating that cryptocurrency asset losses caused by North Korean hackers and threat actors are expected to exceed $2 billion by 2025, a year-on-year increase of 51%. Despite a decrease in the number of attacks, North Korean hackers remain the biggest threat to cryptocurrency users, as stolen funds are almost certainly used to fund military programs. The attack targets Web3 projects and cryptocurrency exchanges for anonymous redemption and transfer. In April of this year, the Ethereum Foundation identified 100 North Korean hackers who infiltrated Drift Protocol and lost $280 million. These actors established relationships through third-party intermediaries to carry out attacks.
