Pakistan Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority releases draft of 2026 Virtual Asset Services Regulations for public consultation

The Pakistan Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (PVARA) has released a draft of the Virtual Asset Services Regulations for 2026, soliciting opinions from the public, industry organizations, and stakeholders. The consultation period is from June 11th to 19:00 on July 2nd. The draft regulation and supporting manual cover the classification and application of virtual asset service provider (VASP) licenses, governance and operational requirements, market behavior standards, technology and network security, AML/CFT compliance obligations, customer asset protection, and provide special manuals for ten types of licenses including exchanges, custodians, brokers, derivatives, mining services, etc.
