Algorand Foundation releases anti quantum upgrade roadmap, aiming to achieve full chain quantum security by 2027-2028

According to Coindesk, the Algorand Foundation has released a roadmap for anti quantum upgrades, planning to initiate protocol upgrades in 2026 and achieve overall quantum security of the network by the end of 2027 to 2028. The first phase will introduce post quantum account systems, multi signature wallets, and staking support, followed by upgrades to core protocol components. The Ethereum Foundation and public chain ecosystems such as Solana have also launched research and migration plans for anti quantum cryptography.
