US Energy Secretary Wright: If EU doesn't relax methane regulations, US natural gas will flow to other regions

US Energy Secretary Wright warned the European Union that if methane regulations are not relaxed, US natural gas supplies will flow to other regions, and said that if regulations are not substantially reformed, it will bring unnecessary and serious pain to Europe. EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen stated that the EU will resist pressure from the United States and other LNG exporting countries and continue to push forward with revised plans aimed at curbing methane emissions. EU energy ministers will meet in Luxembourg on Friday to discuss relevant rules.
