According to TASS, the Russian Ministry of Energy plans to ban digital currency mining in some areas of Moscow, Moscow Oblast, and Kursk Oblast from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2032. Currently, 65 data centers with a total power of 734 megawatts have been connected in Moscow and Moscow Oblast, including 19 data centers with a total power of 233 megawatts in Moscow Oblast.
