Kirsten Gillibrand stated that Congress should support measures to prohibit elected officials and their spouses from issuing or sponsoring digital assets. This restriction covers the President of the United States and his/her spouse, but it is not clear whether it extends to the Vice President or his/her family members. Kirsten Gillibrand is one of the senators negotiating the CLARITY bill.
