Eli Ben Sasson stated that a 4% annual issuance rate roughly matches the global population growth rate. The proposal has sparked strong opposition from the community, with opponents arguing that a fixed cap is the core value of Bitcoin and that Bitcoin can be divided into 21 trillion units, which is sufficient to address the issue of declining available supply.

According to The Block, South Korean fintech company Toss has partnered with Optimism and Sunnyside Labs to explore Korean won denominated stablecoins. The three parties will conduct a concept validation in the coming months to test the application of OP Stack in compliant blockchain digital finance infrastructure.
