On July 14th, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that two UAE oil tankers were attacked by two Iranian cruise missiles in the southern channel of the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the death of one Indian crew member and injuries to eight people, four of whom were seriously injured. Two ships caught fire, and the flames are currently under control. Iran has not responded. The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that the incident seriously violates international law and reserves the right to take all necessary measures to defend national sovereignty and security.
