According to sources cited by the Financial Times, Nvidia has established a customer whitelist in Asia, and the number of customers allowed to purchase AI chips in Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan has decreased by more than half. NVIDIA conducts on-site inspections of data centers, verifies contracts, and interviews end-users to prevent chips from being resold to China through third countries. The affected parties are mostly cloud service providers that provide AI computing power. Companies that have not passed the review can make corrections and reapply. Nvidia stated that compliance is the highest priority, but the US Department of Commerce did not respond.
