According to the Financial Times, the UK's HM Revenue and Customs has recovered over £ 8 million in taxes by reaching settlements with hundreds of cryptocurrency investors. Over the past two years, a total of 502 cryptocurrency investors have reached disclosure settlements with the UK's HM Revenue and Customs regarding unpaid taxes. Among them, 280 people paid £ 3.5 million in the 2024/25 tax year, and 222 people paid approximately £ 4.8 million in the 2025/26 tax year.
