According to the Washington Post, the US debt is expected to exceed 40 trillion US dollars this week, several months ahead of schedule, partly because Trump's tariff policy changes led to the loss of fiscal revenue, forcing the US Treasury Department to speed up lending. The Congressional Budget Office had predicted that the total amount of treasury bond in this fiscal year would be $39.4 trillion, but the data released by the Ministry of Finance on Monday showed that the treasury bond had reached $39.9 trillion. The accelerated accumulation of debt has brought forward the deadline for raising the statutory borrowing limit, which was set by Congress last year at $41.1 trillion.
