Network security company Malwarebytes has discovered that multiple fake cryptocurrency AML detection websites are impersonating services such as AMLBot, inducing users to connect to wallets and authorize transactions. These websites simulate the process through false progress prompts and test results, and some websites require users to pay for testing fees. Connecting the wallet will expose address and asset information, making it easier for fraudsters to construct pending transactions. Malwarebytes recommends that users who have approved suspicious token permissions revoke their permissions, and users who enter mnemonics or private keys should transfer their assets to a new wallet.
