According to a report by First Financial, HSBC Hong Kong and some Chinese banks' Hong Kong branches have recently initiated a funding source declaration process for long-term inactive mainland investment clients, and set time nodes such as August 20th and September 12th. An HSBC spokesperson stated that the bank complies with relevant regulatory requirements and invites relevant mainland investors to provide self declarations to confirm that KYC and customer due diligence information is up-to-date and valid. The above measures are based on the notice issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority on May 22.
