SoftBank Group negotiates to issue $10 billion to $20 billion in bonds for investment in OpenAI

--

According to Bloomberg, SoftBank Group is in talks with investment banks to issue $10 billion to $20 billion in bonds to raise funds to support its investment in OpenAI. The bond issuance may be denominated in US dollars and euros, and will be launched as early as September. The specific size and terms are still under negotiation. Part of the proceeds from the issuance will be used to repay SoftBank's $40 billion bridge loan obtained earlier this year for investing in OpenAI. SoftBank plans to invest nearly $65 billion in OpenAI by October.
