HSBC Hong Kong requires existing investment clients in mainland China to submit a "Declaration Form for Opening/Maintaining Accounts" and update their contact information through the HSBC Hong Kong App before September 12th, which includes confirming that the investment funds come from legal sources outside mainland China. If the submission is not made before August 20th, investment services may be suspended; If not submitted before September 12th, investment services may be terminated. A spokesperson for HSBC Hong Kong told Interface News that this requirement aims to comply with regulatory and KYC requirements. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued monitoring measures in May this year regarding the opening and maintenance of investment accounts.
