Huawei bids for AI data center project in Egypt, US plans to form consortium to compete

--

According to Bloomberg, Huawei has submitted a plan to the Egyptian government to build an AI data center within 12 months, with plans to export 1408 Ascend 950 series chips for training cloud platforms and provide 600 Ascend 950 or 910B chips for two inference clusters. The US State Department has contacted Nvidia, AMD, and Microsoft to form a US consortium and submit competitor quotes. This project has become a direct competition case between China and the United States in the same government AI data center bidding, while testing the demand and supply capabilities of Huawei Ascend's acceleration card in overseas markets, and testing Egypt's balanced choice between the US and Chinese AI ecosystems.
