OpenMind Report: Cost of Humanoid Robots in the U.S. Rises to $131,000 Without Chinese Supply Chain

--

According to Forbes, OpenMind's "Physical AI Readiness Index" reveals that without Chinese suppliers, the manufacturing cost of humanoid robots in the U.S. would increase from $46,000 to $131,000. The report ranks China first among 58 countries, followed by Japan and the U.S. While the U.S. leads in computing power and talent, its score of 48.5 in materials and supply chain lags behind China's 95. Critical components like rare earth permanent magnets remain bottlenecks. Restrictions imposed by the U.S. FCC on foreign-made advanced robots have raised costs for domestic manufacturers and slowed the deployment of robots.
