Swift CEO: Blockchain ledger will cover 19 banks and 5 currencies by the end of the year

Swift CEO Javier P é rez Tasso announced at the opening ceremony of Sibos 2026 in Miami that Swift's blockchain based ledger has been launched and is being used by some large financial institutions. It is expected that at least 19 banks will use the ledger by the end of the year, covering 5 major currencies and supporting 7x24 payments with tokenized deposits.
