According to the American Clean Energy Association and informed sources, the US Department of Defense is putting on hold the approval of about 165 onshore wind power projects on private land, including 35 projects that have completed negotiations and are pending approval, 30 projects that have received verbal approval and are pending written confirmation, about 50 projects under negotiation, and about 50 projects that could have been declared risk-free. These wind farms were originally planned to generate 30 million kilowatts of electricity, which could be used by 15 million households. (Financial Times)
