Solana team launches Alpenglow consensus upgrade test

According to CoinDesk, Anza, the core development team of Solana, announced that the consensus mechanism upgrade codenamed Alpenglow has been launched on the community testing network. The verifier can switch from the existing Proof of Stake+Room of Story+PowerBFT architecture to the new framework in the testing cluster. This upgrade has restructured the communication and block confirmation process for validators, aiming to shorten transaction confirmation time and improve network efficiency. The team stated that validators can now perform 'Alpenswitch' migration operations in real environments. Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko stated that if testing goes smoothly, an upgrade or deployment to the mainnet is possible in the next quarter.
