Paulo, Ita ú offers 15 encrypted assets, Nubank has listed 28, and Banco do Brasil has traded over 11 million reals (approximately $2.1 million) since launching its Bitcoin and Ethereum purchasing services in January of this year. The client's encrypted transactions have not entered the bank's balance sheet, and the Brazilian bank holds zero virtual assets on its books. According to Receita Federal data, in 2025, Brazilians will transfer 505.5 billion Brazilian reals (approximately 98.7 billion US dollars) through cryptocurrency, with corporate transactions accounting for 98.3%. Brazil passed the "Legal Framework for Virtual Assets" in 2022, and three resolutions issued in November 2025 require relevant institutions to obtain licenses and isolate customer accounts. The compliance deadline is October 30, 2026.
