Paraguay authorities investigate illegal Bitcoin mines and seize 35 mining machines

Paraguayan authorities dismantled two illegal Bitcoin mines in the province of Upper Paran á and seized a total of 35 mining equipment. The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) seized 10 ASIC mining machines and imposed a fine of approximately 1.76 billion guarani (about 30000 US dollars) in Minga Guaz ú district, and seized 25 mining equipment in the Remansito community of Dongfang City. The operation was jointly carried out by ANDE, the national police, and the prosecutor's office. The House of Representatives has passed a resolution requiring ANDE to submit a report on the electricity consumption, electricity pricing system, and regulatory situation of encrypted mining sites within 15 working days.
