Binance is in discussions with Malaysian regulators regarding a licensed business model, seeking a return to the local market. A Binance spokesperson stated that they have been communicating with the Malaysian Securities Commission and the central bank over the past 10 months. In July 2021, the Malaysian Securities Commission ordered Binance to cease its local operations. The agency removed Binance from its investor warning list in 2024 but reinstated it this month. In response to an investigation requested by Lim Guan Eng, Binance has closed a ringgit-linked trading market in Kina, Papua New Guinea, and is also addressing complaints regarding the Ley market in Romania.
