In 2026, token buybacks for cryptocurrency projects reached 638 million US dollars, with Hyperliquid and Pump.fun accounting for 90%

From January to August 31, 2026, a total of approximately 638 million US dollars will be invested in token buybacks for cryptocurrency projects. Among them, Hyperliquid and Pump.fun contribute nearly 90% of the market share. Hyperliquid will allocate 99% of transaction fees to the Assistance Fund for repurchase and destruction, resulting in approximately $1.3 billion of HYPE being repurchased and destroyed. Pump.fun will use 50% of the revenue from Launchpad and PumpSwap to repurchase and destroy PUMPs, offsetting approximately 15.7% of the initial token supply as of early August. Sky Ecosystem has repurchased SKY worth approximately $26 million this year.
